·   Educate and Monitor 25 + employees on OSHA and Company Safety rules, developing classes taken from the JJKeller company kelleronline training website used by Wabtec. Monthly topics chosen by the corporate Safety Manager. Usually a topic from a subject causing a problem at one of the Wabtec sites.  Also developed additional classes on any topics needing improvement at our site. All classes are thoroughly documented for company records.

·   Instrumental in the Startup of the Utah Transit Authority Rail Service Center maintenance shop.  I am proud to know that UTA, while being a safety oriented company, nonetheless adopted multiple safety policies and practices that I put in place and enforced with Wabtec at this UTA site.

·   Report and liaison with OSHA and Corporate offices monthly on all safety and quality issues.

·   Participate in bimonthly Safety and quality calls with corporate, discussing problems and making suggestions with safety and quality coordinators from across the Wabtec companies to help find solutions.

·   Work closely with the UTA safety administrator, performing site safety audits, and remote safety audits on the alignment

·   On the UTA safety committee, Discussing and implementing solutions to unsafe items and practices found during audits within the Maintenance shop and on the alignment. We have effectively resolved multiple issues that did not pass OSHA regulation, I.E. installed toe kicks on mezzanines, developed fall protection work stations for specific tasks, and lately have resolved many environmentally related issues.

·   On the alignment, we have worked to resolve issues relating to stations, such as poor visibility for operators at pedestrian crossings and gap issues at the platforms, and many others.

·   Work closely with outside fire and safety agencies about incidents out on the alignment, doing safety drills and mock emergencies.

·   Monitor and implement proper handling of quality related issues, creating a controlled document paper trail of issue resolutions, and documenting training records demonstrating maintenance work is being done by properly trained employees. Monitor and document the calibration of all measuring and test equipment.

·   Conduct Quality audits at work stations and job sites to ensure work is being done to proper specifications.  Audit work instructions and controlled documents to verify only current revisions of all instructions are in use.

·   Supervised and directed day to day activities of 40+ employees, helping increase production and fabrication of locomotive parts and subassemblies by 28% through employee engagement noticeably improving morale and process flow to help with employee attitude.  Worked with employee scheduling and helped create a monitored employee time off needed trade board.

·   Inspect and verify proper manufacturing of locomotive parts to ensure quality control of all manufactured parts to meet proper specifications to match blueprints.

·   6 years as operator of CNC machines including Laser cutting tables, plasma tables press brakes and mills.

·   Instruct employees in reading and understanding blueprints to ensure their ability to manufacture parts to meet specifications.

·   Team Building activities on a regular basis, helping implement and maintain a successful lean thinking 5S program at the MotivePower plant.

Meeting monthly to identify, discuss and implement solutions to any recurring problems found to be unsafe going on at the plant.  We solved a recurring fall protection issue at the teardown shop by installing a trolley on beam setup over the high reach teardown shop.
